What is an archaeological impact assessment?

An archaeological impact assessment is a scientific study done in advance of a development project to document the nature and extent of archaeological sites found in the project footprint, and to recommend actions to mitigate or alleviate any potential impacts from the development.  For more information, please see the Guidelines for Developers at http://pwnhc.ca/programs/downloads/guidelines_for_developers.pdf.
